Tyler Spicer is an award winning NYC based director of theatre and film. He most recently directed a solo clown show titled The Circus Has Been Cancelled which received the Ira Eaker Bistro Award for Special Achievement in Cabaret. He is also producing and directing IMAGNIARY, an original short film co-written with Lauren Gundrum. Other Directing credits include: PharmaBro (Off-Broadway), This Gonna Be On The Test, Miss? (Tour), an immersive adaptation of Oscar Wilde's Salome, Alien Vs. Musical, and Jack and Jill (by Sarah Hammond).
Tyler co-created and directs Madame Mathieu's Soiree, a recurring avant-garde variety, which has featured and developed the work of over 50 broadway professionals and 200 emerging artists. Spicer also a produces the Soiree's yearly Denovan Residencies: two six-month-long comprehensive development opportunities for emerging experimental artists.
Spicer has assisted projects on and off-broadway, at Juilliard, the O’Neill Theatre Center, CAP21, HBO, and many others.
Cabaret patroness Madame Mathieu has selected Heather Manley (Aladdin) and CJ Eldred (The Book of Mormon) as guests of honor at the March edition of the Bistro Awards Critics' Pick Madame's Soiree. The Broadway duo will be joined on the program by a distinguished group of emerging artists from a variety of disciplines.
